Need some help fellas.so I got a client with a 235 59 motor.the problem is that there is oil going to the rocker assembly except it doesn't weep out of each rocker like it should.I took the shaft completely apart clean it good with solvent went to put them on and still have good pressure coming up the head to the feed pipe and out to the shafts but nothing out of the weep holes. And I cleaned all the rocks and weep holes and help is appreciated.

The 59 motor has a unique tube that disperses the oil. In the center of the rocker assembly is that fitting with the tube sticking down into the head to accept oil.. it does NOT have a loop around. The ONLY exit for the oil that comes up through that hole in the Head, is through the rocker shafts and weep holes.

Does that fitting have a loop-around to let oil just dump out onto the head AS WELL AS a pipe to the rockers? If so, it's the wrong fitting. Pre68Dave will have other ideas I am sure. Hes the go-to guy for this problem. smile

Also, run compressed air through that pipe with the rocker assembly setting on a table and see if you have air coming out of the weep holes. Hope this helps!

I THINK the shaft holes point down. This is so the oil can be distributed to the valves and lifters. Each rocker has a groove and it is offset (not in the middle of each rocker) to one side. They should be clear so the weep holes can work. So if it works with them up, my next question would be are you getting 30psi oil pressure? I am at home, but tomorrow I can check if the holes point up or down for sure. My short term memory isn't getting better.

Holes do go down.
If the rockers or shafts have very much wear it can be hard for the oil to get to the vent hole.
