Hello everyone, my name is Harry and I just bought a 1955 series 1 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. It has a 235. I am retired and my son & I are going to do a RatRod project together which will include an IFS and LS2 late model engine. We are trying to get the 235 running before we yank it out to sell. We came across this site a couple weeks ago as we started our dream sheet upon the truck purchase. I know we will learn a lot from many of you and hopefully we can help someone else down the road....thanks for allowing us in

Welcome to the Stovebolt subvet....and to my neighboring state!
Several bolters in the Ga. and surrounding area's. Watch for them. Sounds like a plan you two have. Get that 235 running and if its a good one you may want to drive it a while and let it talk to you as to what you want to do to it.

You can find answers to your questions in the Garage Forums so we'll be seeing you around the shop. Good luck.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

We wanted to do that, but when we started adding up the cost....bad pinion gear, bent steering center link. master cylinder breaks, messed up wiring we decided to go for a tear down. We are going to try and run it tomorrow though. Thanks so much for the come back and yes we will be asking a lot of questions for sure.....thanks again

Welcome to the Stovebolt from Northern Ohio. You will find a lot of good info & good people here.
I spent a good amount of time in Ellijay over the years. Richard Gaddis owner of Gilmer auto parts along with his sons are friends of mine. He has since passed, but the sons still run the business.
Good Luck with your truck!
Bill
