Is there a good source for those really long arm side mirrors found on the 40s grain trucks? I'm brand new to this decade of GM trucks and am trying to collect information and resources. Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can buy the mirror head itself in various sizes, either round or square, and then it's pretty straightforward to make an arm whatever length you need by using two pieces of tube, one inside the other with a thumb screw to lock it at the desired length.

Randy;

That is a real slick looking mirror bracket. Looks good and sturdy. I bet you could sell those and make it work. Nice work!

Thanks

All sorts of mirrors and arms and brackets available aftermarket.

Page 29 has just the adjustable long arms listed, part number 747070, and earlier in the catalog are all sorts of mirror heads.
