I have a P30/32 motorhome front and rear w/19.5 rims my question is when I narrow the front end do make it fit the frames taper and have the A frames facing forward or do you keep it straight and shim it to the frame in the front? I know its been done.

I would say, if I understand your situation, I would keep the 'A' arms aligned the way they were with the centerline of the truck, and just narrow the whole works for the wheels to fit the fenders; unless you want to use solid axle spindles and hook them to your existing axle. I'm not sure if IFS spindles will work on solid axle?

See Grigg's posts here about that.

The motorhome(P30) is straight framed and my 46 1 1/2 frame is tapered. So narrow and just shim in the front?

My question is how you mount the A frame effect the way the wheel turns/steer?

If there is no negative effect on steering radius then mount the A frames the easiest way.

I have done this on my 2 ton.
I cut sections of the P30 frame and grafted them to the outside of the '46 frame.
This provides several things:
1. A flat surface on the bottom for the P30 crossmember to set on.
2. Allows the taper in the '46 frame to be compensated for against the straight P30 crossmember uprights.
3. Provides the upper shock mount-I cut the P30 frame behind the shock mount.
4. The angle of the crossmember has to be correct to get the caster adjusted correctly.
Just to clarify, I did not cut the '46 frame, I just added to it.
Grafted together, you have to look closely to see it.
