Lets see. Lots of torque. Decent milage. Chevy's first production six with full pressure oiling and insert bearings. Lots of torque. Would withstand far higher rpm than the 216. More power per pound than a v8 (at that time). Chevy management didn't believe in the v8, it cost more. Lots of torque. Would run around 100,000 miles before needing an overhaul (usually) compared to 70,000 in the 216. Tooling was basically the same as a 216, making it easier to build. The 216, compared to the 235, was a piece of junk, as is the 235 compared to the 250. wink
