I'm selling some parts to a fellow who lives over 2000kms away and he informs me today that his is a 54. My parts are a 52,
Will the following crossover despite the 53-54 changes
Grille (I believe yes)
Hood ( I believe yes)
Grille surround (I think no)
Inner fenders ( I think yes)
Radiator and support. ( I think yes)
I'd hate to sell this stuff, he receives it and it won't fit.
Thanks bolters.

I have no feedback except that demanding an answer is probably not the best way to get one.

Or, maybe you are simply unaware that ALL CAPS is considered "yelling" when conversing online.

Fox, No, No, No, maybe, maybe. The 54 has a totally different grill. The hood may be the same but the emblems are not, the inner fenders might be the same, ask Tim, the radiator might work, but each year is stamped with the year the truck was made.

If he knows his truck, he knows not to purchase things that are not proper for his vehicle. If not, he will learn the hard way. Nice of you to help him out with proper information. Tim is our resident expert 54 man. He knows MUCH more than most of us on that vintage.

This post is about 54 vs 53 GMC trucks (Canadian? both?).

What size trucks?

I do not know the differences between 53-54.

My uninformed guesses would be:
- differences in front fenders
- inner fenders - probably the same
- differences in hoods - maybe
- grills might be the same
- grill "surrounds" are completely different
- radiator supports ??
- radiators ??

If Fox is a member of oldGMCtrucks discussion board, the people over there would know the answers.

Edited, because I can't read and did not see the "GMC" in the header, and don't know anything about GMCs, nor Canadians.
Doh!

1947-53 Chevrolet 1/2 ton thru ?/? ton
Entire Front clips: (Grille Hood, Grille surround
Inner fenders, Radiator and support)
Will attach to a 54 cab and mount to 54, 55 1st series frame.

You can't mix 54 55 1st series truck Front clip parts with 1947-53 Front clips parts.
Its all 1947-53 or all 54, 55 1st series parts.

If you use a 1947-53 Front clip on a 54, 55 1st series truck cab it
would not be a True 1954 truck.
But it would work, I've seen it done, I just can't find picture of one at the moment.

Thanks for the help guys.
Sorry about the capitals. I was unaware about that. I needed help quick so the buyer's brother didn't drive 130 miles for no reason.
We got it sorted. Thanks again
