Headliners are hard on me or I am hard on them. I ruined a perfectly good two piece one removing it from my '50 cab. The current '51 cab for whatever reason, fits better or should I say at least installed easier. Practice maybe. Are your overhead cutouts factory or for one of your modifications?
The cut outs are factory to give access to the wipers, I have been looking at the ford transit rear door wiper motors they look like a good fit with a 90 degree sweep need to research that a bit more

Abandoning your roots Paul?
Remember the good old Brit rodders favourite, the Austin/Morris/MG/Jag set-up? They used it on everything.
In fact...I wouldn't be suprised if you had one kicking around your garage given your love of the Coventry Cat. There are various sweeps available and with a bit of conduit cutting and shutting can be made to fit. Flip the drive boxes and you can reverse the sweep too.
I used one on my '50 and retained the clap hands movement by reversing one of the drives.
Works great even in Scotland with a little help from Rain-X In saying that our weather's been more like Va. than Scotland recently......

Your right John I have worked on so many I shy away from them but they are versatile, I was looking for something more modern to work with my XJS switch but I acquired a original mini bumper for the rear of my bed fits nicely around the bed and not the rear fenders the look I wanted.
I just thought the BL wiper system would've been a little more compact than two separate motors, there's not a lot of room in these cabs as I'm sure you know.
I don't wait for good weather Paul,if I did i'd only be out about two weeks a year.(It is Scotland after all)
It gets driven regardless of conditions although I will try and avoid the salty roads this winter,at least 'til I get a decent paint job and even then...

The only problem John is they are difficult to find over here plus you pay a premium because they only imported Jaguars, Healeys, MG's Triumph's and they are all collector cars, very few Mini's Austin 1100 or 1300 the poor mans BL cars.
I understand Paul,my friend just along the road from you in Newport News has had similar problems getting parts for his Austin Mini. Thankfully we have an agreement,he sends me Stovebolt stuff and I in return send him his Mini bits.
I watched a USA based programme the other night and the guy was saying a pair of plain old S.U. carbs for his MG TF were $1200!
Austin 1100s? Obviously our American friends had more sense.....
P.S. If you ever need help in obtaining Jag parts for the pick-up,give me a shout,i'd be glad to help.

Very slow progress on the interior have a few pieces covered with vinyl now the weather is cooling down I hope I can get on and finish most of the interior
Finished the interior trim and door seals fitted the glass in the frame just waiting for the frame seal so I can glue that in place, some pics in the album
Looks good Paul. I saw a nice modified '40 at Carlisle that reminded me of yours only because it had a custom box bed. Sorry, but no pic. Off the wall question. Do you vintage Jag race by any chance?
Thanks Drew I would have liked to see a picture of that always looking for ideas, I do not race only because I am to busy working on them. I used to race Mini's and Ford Escorts MkI and MkII's back in the UK I prepared a few Rally cars but I always preferred the tarmac events over the forest stages
Glad to see you got your screens/windshields sorted out Paul,it's looking good. Slightly O/T but I learned to drive in a '77 MkII Escort,I also learned about opposite lock too!

Me too John a light blue MkII BSM (British School of Motoring) I only used them because they had an office just down the road from where I worked I could finish work at 16:30 and walk to my lesson, I took all my lessons in the Manchester rush hour which like any major city its not very forgiving.
The trucks coming on and I think it will be finished this year I have a few things I want to re-visit but its nearly time for some road trials.
My dads Escort was a Jade Green 1.6GL with a beige Draylon interior but thankfully NO brown vinyl roof. The height of luxury.....(for the 70s)
Now you know as well as I do,old trucks are never finished.

Fitted my replacement door glass and door hardware, the handles were badly pitted so I shot blasted the remaining chrome off they came out better than expected, pics in the album
Paul, the truck looks great. It has to handle well at speed. Maybe some under steer with the front end weight. Anyway, very cool Chevy truck. Your engine rebuild video is an OMG for me. Good thing you're a trained Jag mechanic. Just scary, all those gears and timing to get right. LOL.
Thanks Drew its not so bad with the single over head cam the original V12 design for racing had twin cam heads! now there's a lot of cogs and chains to deal with, some people are converting the V12 to twin cam using the XK 6 cylinder heads with some success. In its current state single cam max tuned horse power is around 700hp with a twin cam the engine can breath more and 1200hp is achievable or so I have heard of course super charging, turbo charging and nitrous changes all of that.
Been messing around with wheels, latest pics in the album my favorite wheels similar to the XJ220 wheels that are fitted on the Jaguar 220mph supercar.
I just finish my vinyl engine cover today I have seen a few fitted and when its stretched it leaves folds which depend on the curves your trying to cover, I tried to get mine to look like a part of the cover or a wind deflector turned out pretty good pleased with the overall look.
It looks good, but personally I've never seen that look, so pleading ignorance, what was the process? Just stretch it over your existing hood and add snaps?
There is no hood this replaces the hood plus I have no sewing machine this has all the seems glued together so it made it a bit more difficult to fit, its a case of fixing the snap to the cover then stretching the material before riveting the base snap to the truck.
I have an interior mirror from a 1966 C10 on its way to me still have carpets, and shifter gaiter to finish the interior. Still looking for the right wiper motors but the "to do" list is getting shorter ;-).
Nice to get that close. My '50 3100 is not as close as yours, Paul. I'm finishing up the bed and some glass and interior parts to complete. As a "senior" this mid-atlantic cold we're getting doesn't help. LOL. Regarding your wipers. Have you talked with Newport Engineering?
It has been a bit chilly here also, Thanks Drew for the link I just checked them out at $389 its a bit more than I wanted to pay, I have the switch and wiring all installed just need a two speed motor or motors arms and blades
I'm not sure how much room you have Paul but there's some dinky little tailgate wiper motors out there, only snag is they're single speed. Might be worth a junkyard reccy though,of course you'd need two!

I have a wiper motor. You're welcome to it. I think it came out of a jeep, may even be a 2 spd. I'm not going to use it. I'm also here in Richmond.Larry
Hi,have you looked into the wiper motors with the flexible linkage? There is a company called Sachse rod shop in Texas that has them. They even have a set up for your truck. It runs about $329.95 and is 2 speed and self parking, might make life easier. As always, lookin good. I got my 53 on the road last sept. but I only got to drive it a few times before the weather got cold. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see it in person. Steve
Paul,I had a look at the Sachse kit,I think you'll find it looks strangely familiar...
I wonder where that idea came from eh?
