| | | | Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 35 | Trying to bleed the brakes on my 65 C60 and I am wondering what the process is for bleeding the Hydrovac system. My biggest question is how to bleed the Hydrovac. There are no bleeder screws on it anywhere. I know you start with the Hydrovac and then go furthest to closest wheel. The service manual calls for opening a manual valve but they don't get into much detail or show a picture... Haven't worked much on this type of brake system so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your booster has no bleed screws then somewhere along the line someone has replaced it with a newer than stock unit, the original equipment is shown to have two bleed screws. The newer units were standard on newer trucks and the brake bleeding sequence for a single axle is right rear, left rear, right front, left front, I hope that helps, the new booster should be a Midland unit, is that what you have? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 35 | I looked all over it the best I could and could not find any type of ID or tags on the unit. Don't forget brake shoe adjustment is critical to a good pedal height, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 872 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 872 | Look at the vac, where the brake line connects, that should be the slave cylinder (it should stick out from the front of the vac can).
On the top there should be a bolt/screw something near where the line is connected.
