Jerryatric,

First thing to confirm is the size of your truck. Your thread title says it's a 4400, but you are calling it a 1-ton. The 4400 is a 1-1/2 ton, a 3800 is a 1-ton.

If it's a 4400 it will have the "big truck" front fenders and grille. The wheel openings will be about 42" wide at the botton of the fender. The fender will also have a larger flair than the 1-ton and smaller truck fenders.

The only 4400 parts that are common to the 3100 are the Hood, inner fenders and Cab, that's it...the frame and suspension parts are way bigger (3100 vs 4400).

Let us know what series truck you have so we can correctly answer your questions.

ok now you got me thinking << as im buying it blind and only had the 1 pic in which it didn't show flared guards at all ,,, it was listed as 1 ton 4400 flatbed dually which I checked the wheel opening in the pic I had against a lot of pics and it looked like they were the same as 3100 type ,, ??? anyway will 3100 guards fit it ??
cheers jerry ( atric )

Jerry,

The 1/2 thru 1-ton trucks all share the same front clip. If it has the sharks mouth grille it's a 1-ton or smaller.

You can see what a 4400 1-1/2 ton looks like on my web page (it's the brown truck)...click on the Mike's Garage link under my signature.
