Click my link on the bottom and go to CAB RUST.

Bit of background.

I bought this truck and checked it out pretty well. I was so happy because I could no find any holes or deep bondo, dents, deformity etc.

As I have started pulling it apart I am noticint more and more of these things!

I knew there was a small hole in the floor but it had ben covered by fiberglass in order to seal/keep water out. I did uses a flashlight to look at it and i could see this hole.
The others did not show up through the fiberglass which is dirty and thick in places.
As I was removing the FG the putty knife helped the holes some but ot much.

I am pretty bummed. I cant wait to see what lies ahead in th cab corner that has the FG in it.

We feel your pain. Finally this truck is getting the RIGHT treatment for the cancer. It wll take a lot of work you didn't expect, but the job will be a good one. You'll be proud in the end.

totally off topic, but I notice you keep frogs. I also keep frogs, Red Eyes and D.auratus. Nice to see someone with more than just one hobbie in common!

I kept and bred frogs for several years. I sold the collection for truck/wedding/house funding.

I was breeding frogs and bought the truck before I ever thought of marriage. I had to give one up.
I still have too many hobbies.
At one point the intent was to fund truck stuff with frog money and I did for a short while. It is very demanding as far as time goes though.

If you are not on frognet you should check it out.

In2,
WOW! Thats scary lookin'. Your name choice seems unfortunately prophetic. Maybe you can find a good sheetmetal guy to make the whole floor or something. I feel your pain. Best of luck.

In2D-

If you're doing the whole floor, there are a number of sheetmetal suppliers in your area that sell repair panels, some smoothed if you want a new custom look. Check out Bitchin' Sheetmetal Products (now in AZ)or El Cajon Sheetmetal.

I do intend to cut it all out and weld new pieces in.
It should be a goodplace to start since i have never welded and no one will see it.

The patches are not too expensive its the welder that is gonna kill me.

You have a good project there, lots to work with. I would patch in those two cutouts in the seat holder. That structure also serves as a floor brace.
