met a guy who has an old 53 pickup bench seat who'll give it to me free next time he visits his parents' ranch, but he doesnt know the measurements. i would hope to use it for the 3rd row bench in my 51 burb.

will it work? i feel like the burb is narrower than the truck, but that's just a guess. any help would be appreciated, especially as we dont have the bench seat nearby (3 hr drive) to measure it.

truck seat frames are wider than a suburban frame,,,
I forget by how many inches but they are wider.

many people have cut them down to fit though

that's kind of what i thought. wouldnt be opposed to cutting it, but i wonder how the truck seat frame aligns with the seat brackets in the bed of the burb? my burb didnt come with any rear seats so i've no idea how/if the seat mount locations would mate up to a truck seat frame.

The seat mounting holes won't even be close.

i have a 52 front seat as my second row seat on my 37 carry all. the holes did not line up, BUT with some imagination and garage bracing i was able to fasten it on and it works fine, my kids sit on there..
