This was in a box of parts when I purchased my '50 3100 truck just wondering if it actually ever belonged to he truck or just ended up in the parts box

here is a pic of one I saw on ebay just like it

it says it is for a 49-50 but it doesn't look like the repo you can order for a 1950

THanks

Just to give a little heads up to anyone buying restoration
parts, I would double check with the other vendors before
placing an order with USA1. I have compared their prices on
many items in the last couple of weeks and their pricing is
way above most of the others that I normally deal with.

This hood ornament discussion is a good example, I checked
pricing and they are $20 over three of the other vendors I
checked with. The cigarette lighters in another thread were
also high and they had the incorrect reproduction knob with
the maroon dot in the center, which they posted a video
touting that it was an accurate reproduction.
It's also possible that they are competitive with some other
parts but I haven't checked the rest of their catalog.
Just a little caution to look before you leap.

A dealer or an owner or a shop or a friend could put any ornament on any vehicle.

GM had a car ornament and a truck ornament - they were different.

That is a personal taste question, some people liked them some didn't.
I would say not common, because they were work trucks.
And it wasn't a factory installed item, but was a GM designed item.
Farmers didn't really care about BLING
Although, I'm sure there were some GM dealer salesmen that were pretty good at talking people into buy them.
I like'm though.

I've seen Buick hood ornaments on AD trucks before also.

Tim, you are right about it not being a 47 ornament. Close but no cigar.
With that said, there is something about a gleaming Chev ornament from the 40s/50s. I just love the styling of it and reminds me of times gone by and in a lot of ways times I want to return to for if only just to see the cars and trucks running around everyday.
