Greetings, group! Reassembly of a 1950 Chevy 2-ton frame. Had all new springs made for the truck. We noticed this morning that the rear springs measure differently from center-pin to eye, front and back. On one end, it measures about 22 inches, and on the other end it measures 23 inches.

I know the shackle goes in the rear, but which end gets the slightly longer half of the springs?!!

Seems it will affect the placement of the differential, and the drive shaft may not mate up if we don't get it right.

So . . . long end to the rear? Or long end to the front?
