I've been looking at a few of the main restoration parts store websites, comparing prices, and have noticed that some of the parts have fairly different prices (cab mount kit say $27 vs $15 or pedal pads for $8 vs $3). Does anyone know if these parts all come from the same manufacturer and each store marks them up differently, or is there a difference in quality? I realize those examples are small fries compared to other parts but the differences in price just made me wonder if there was a reason, or if it was a mark-up thing.

likely partly due to markup policy variations, but there are a number of different makers of most rubber parts, some better quality than others [most here will agree that Steele Rubber makes the best quality rubber parts] - many other things are more likely to be all from one supplier, primarily "offshore"

many, if not most of the parts are from the same supplier, The ones that say "counterparts" are a common one. So virtually all vendors will have the same stuff. There are exceptions of course. Like was mentioned above, there are even a few parts actually made in America, I got a voltage regulator a couple of years back, "MADE IN THE USA" I wasn't sure what to think. The fenton headers and intakes are made in china now. That is bad, there are certain things that should remain sacred. But this is the world we live in. If I had a foundry, I would make stuff here. (like a brand new wayne head)
