| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 | I searched older threads for info on moving the cab to the P&B shop. The doors, and dash are off and I'd like to remove it, again, from the chassis so the firewall gets painted. I checked the photo gallery links and noticed at least two guys moved their cabs as I would like to as well. My question: does this make later door alignment etc a problem best avoided? I vaguely recall a thread discussion along these line, but could'nt find it.

I lifted it from the bottom so as not to smash the rain rail above the door openings. Scott

Doors, dash, innards were removed. Three guys could lift it off. I didnt have any issues with the doors but I made new door bottoms about 6-7 inches up and fitted doors to cab. I've heard where others cross braced the cab to maintain clearances but I didn't have those issues. I mounted cab using the original mounts when fitting the doors. I have some pictures but most were lost when Webshots went down. Hope this helps. Have fun and good luck Dan

But you need to watch those corners. I did put in long bolts in the body mount holes so they hit the ground before the bottom of the cab sheet metal! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 | Thank you fellas!!! I have been stalled on this phase until I can get some help lifting etc. Help may be possible later this week? In the mean time been working on cleaning and stripping paint off the dash and related parts. Nasty! | | |
