It's not good when driving down the road and your passenger door swings open. It turns out the door will not engage with latch. Not sure how it happened but when I opened up the door trim to look inside at the door latch I saw that the button in the door handle was not making any connection with the latch assembly. There appears to be around an inch or so of space between the end if the button and the door assembly. From the looks of things something might be missing...like a spring maybe? I cannot find any good pictures or diagrams of the assembly. Anyone face this same problem? Most of the searches I did on the subject returned results for older trucks and not the 60s vehicles.

Any help figuring out how to fix would be helpful. Thanks John
