How rare is it to find a C60 Chevy Truck with factory Air Conditioning?

I would say it would be pretty rare. I have never seen one personally and can't ever remember one in pictures.

I'm not even sure if there is such a thing, Factory Air anyway, like a Pick-up would have. I'm pretty sure there was some kind of "Cool Pack" or "Roof Top" available.

If you have one, I'm sure we would all love to see pictures of it if possible.

I know factory a/c was available on C60 and big trucks in 1970 because I saw one at a local salvage yard. I bet it was available in 65.

I have seen a '66 Chevrolet 1/2ton with factory air. I have never seen a mid 60's Chevrolet with factory air. Those trucks were built to work and I don't think anyone would want to sacrifice the power to run a/c when they needed all they could get out of it for working.

Am brand new to the forum but thought I might answer this post which I came upon while looking for information about my truck. I have a 1965 Chevrolet C60 truck with the 409 engine and factory air. It started life as a flatbed, was changed to a wrecker, and then the boom and wrecker parts removed and converted to a fifth wheel hauler. Then it sat for 22 years unmoved and untouched. That's about where I am at the moment. Would be glad to post some photos but don't know how to do that in this context. Great site with big trucks near to my heart. Thank you.

I'm not sure how to post pictures either, but if you are able to, we sure would like to see the truck you have there.

Sounds pretty interesting, especially with the Factory AC on it.

Dlwic1964,C-10-C-90 Bill,Try this! http://www.stovebolt.com/gallery/submission.html You'll need to post your pics,on a website like Picasa,or Photobucket, just to name some, and then LINK them to "Stovebolt.com/gallery/submissions. My link didn't work when I tried to submit mine, but thanks to "our" "WorkerBee",Peggy Milliman, she had the link fixed before I could even ask for help! Years back,I saw a '63 Chevrolet C-90 S/A straight truck, with a 409,in a local junkyard. I was surprised to see the A.C. compressor, opposite of the air compressor for the brakes. Unit bolted under the dash, just like the factory set-up on their smaller "brothers".Probably helped keep the smell down to a minimum, too, since it was a livestock hauler!

wetwilly5757 Thanks for the photo info. Will take some pictures of the truck and give it a try. Wish me luck as us older guys sometimes have trouble with all this newfangled computer stuff. I guess maybe that's why we like the older trucks.....lots simpler to deal with.

This is my feeble attempt at posting the links to photos of my truck. Hope this works.

P.S. Sorry the photos are so small. Have tried to enlarge them through the photo-hosting place but, even though they list several different resolutions available for the photo upload, they all come out the same size.......small.
