Ive had this wild idea of building an old 60s looking gasser pickup for a shop truck .
Im kind of stuck on the 48-50 range, too many little changes starting in 51 that just don't do it for me.
Im thinking jacked up a couple inches in the back with an old set of torque thrusts all the way around and a tube axle up front jacked up 3-4" in the air.
For motivation a 482" 409 with a set of hilbornes would be tits, but a 415" sbc done up to look like an old 301 with hilbornes on top would also be cool set back about 10" in the frame.
Anyway all the old gassers I tend to see are either willys or chopped up 55 chevies!
Anybody got any decent pictures of a good looking gasser pickup?

I always thought a 1960-1 pickup painted flat black with the original hood would be cool looking as a shop truck

I had a 61 chevy k20 years ago that I conterted over to newer k30 running gear with a flatbed/hoist .
the old rust bucket had 4.55s with a limited slip front end /4.56s and a locker in the rear .sat 1/2 mile in the air with eagle alum duallies all around.
I ran a 415" sbc with .510 lift cam and a big fat 800ish cfm quadrajet on it to screw with peoples heads when they looked under the hood! wink
That old pig would light those duals up at 35-40 and try and twist the truck in half at the same time,it was a riding pulling up to kids in cars at stoplights and seeing the look on their faces!
After the 1st 100' most of them wanted nothing to do with it and started looking for a different street to get off on. drive
Ive still got that motor someplace in a corner.

Got my stupid computer back up and halfway working,So while I was with out a computer I started scrapping some stuff in the barn and digging some more motors out to tear down and build.
I also managed to get the short block for c60 built,my 427 idea grew by a few extra inches to a 468 since the 396/427 crank I had wasn't as nice as I thought it was. cry
