Looking to swap the h0110 axle for something I can hit 100k in, but looking to use the original rims. Anyone know a way to make that possible? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Hy Matix, a replacement axle suggestion depends a lot on how you are going to use the truck, G.V.W., trailer towing, full rated loads just what will be needed strength wise. There are many newer axles available that could be swapped in. Does your truck use the ten bolt wheels on a 7 1/4" bolt circle?

Personally I'd swap in a newer Topkick/Kodiak axle front and rear from a 2wd so you have a newer and most popular bolt pattern and availability of running newer tires/rims along with better gearing for high speed. Not sure I'd be running the old 5/10 lug locking rims and bias over 100km/h. Not that I haven't run them that fast before, but I prefer the newer technology when going that fast lol

Any medium sized big rig axles can be used, it's just a matter of mounting them which isn't overly hard on a frame.

That could be a major rework in this case. The '60-'62 trucks have an ifs front end, not beam axle, even on the heavy trucks. The C40 is more or less a beefier version of the C10-C30 suspension.

Really...hmmm. I've got an I-beam on my '63 Bread Van which is a 2T or 3T so figured it'd be the same on the HD trucks from the year before. I wish I had IFS on mine as it'd be easier to airbag it lol May end up swapping in '80s 1T suspension throughout down the road so I can lay it out on the ground. For now I just want to swap my rims over to my 24" Alcoas but I can't do that unless I change everything to a big rig pattern.

Hy dubds10, as LONGBOX55 said the entire GM truck line 1960 through 1962 used torsion bar front suspension as the standard front suspension, you could order a beam axle and leaf springs if you wanted to, but that would be an extra cost option.

Yes they are 10 lug by what I thought was 7.125. I am trying to keep it as stock looking as possible I hear the truck is not common. I just don't know if it possible. Right now I can't go over 50k. Anyone know a minimalist way to get an axle to run 100k but atleast keep the 18s, not the original rim and tire but newer ones? Including the front end

I really don't understand what 50k and 100k is, but if you want a real simple way to get more speed out of your truck, put on some taller Rear Tires.

I would also consider a Brown-Lipe 3-Speed Aux Trans with an Overdrive.

Canadian speed: 50kph & 100kph = 31mph & 62mph ?

I think 60's speedos were still showing mph here, not kph ... but if it really is "k" I'd think the rear is stuck in low range

It's is in miles, but after 35 mph it is roaring. 6.17 gears in it and they guy I bought it from had it since 1970 and and never had it over 40 mph
