I'd like to look at a stock COE 1947-1954. I have
a 54, but all the underhood sheet metal is gone and I'd like to see how the inner fender, radiator support, top cover and hood latch system all fits together.

I live in Grand Rapids, MI and am willing to drive pretty much any place in the lower peninsula, northern Ohio or Indiana (or north central eastern Illinois) to view one.

Can anyone help??

Check out the website www.oldgmctrucks.com Go to the discussion forum, then check out the Big GMC Grease Pit, & there is a thread by Tim Lederman, "54/55 GMC 350 COE ready for 2014-2015 hibernation".

My inner fenders, radiator support, top cover, and hood latch system are not in place. They will be put back together next spring/summer.

Also, Spanky, are those sheet metal parts the same on a GMC and a Chevrolet? My 54/55 GMC COE has no real inner fenders, it has several pieces of removable sheet metal that allow a little access to the painfully hidden engine.

Here are reference photos that I use (from vwlfan, Bob Lipnichan):

Neat restoration!! great work. Unfortunately, doesn't show what I want/need to see. It doesn't have to be a "pretty" truck, just one that's still assembled....I'm also wondering if Chevy is the same as GMC, I'd guess not based on the Jimmy photo's vs. what I know about the inner Chev pieces.
