Running board looks nice and straight. What are you doing for wheels. Please don't tell me you're going to 21's! Super shiney black and some redone caps would look awesome. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 194 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 194 | You got it, K10. Super shiny black original 16" wheels with the correct painted hupcaps. Might have to spring for radial tires though. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | Looking really good Looks like you have been busy and have the proof to show it

I like the idea of painting the wheels the same color as the body and then either chrome or white moon caps with the red GMC logo. It looks like you are doing excelent job.
The engine and the engine compartment look fantastic also!!!!

With that color I would go with the body colored wheels...It's gonna be nice! | | | | | Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 166 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 166 | Awsome truck!! I hope you keep the original look with the stock wheels and tires. Check my webshots page and take a look at my 1951 GMC that I just sold. When I bought it the wheels were black with old worn out tires. I pulled the wheels and had them beadblasted and painted to match the color on the body of the truck, and wow, it really worked out well for me. I think on your truck, you could go both ways, either paint the wheels black, which would be a nice contrast with the gray color on your truck, or go with the body color. I bought BF Goodrich Silvertown tires from Coker and it really set the truck off. I have seen factory photos and postcards showing the GMC trucks with the wheels either body color keyed, black, or cream/white color.
I like how you did the bed wood black, not all show pine like alot of other people do. I think they came black from the factory any way.
Take good care of that sweet looking truck!!
Good job!!!

Nice progress and a great looking truck.
My vote is for black powder coated wheels and shiny hubcaps.
If you would like to see what they look like take a look on my pictures page in my signature. Click on September 2003.
My 59 GMC has black powder coated stock wheels with GMC AD chrome hubcaps. For a subtle touch I bought the hubcaps without painted lettering.
Remember it's your truck, so it's your decision. I took a lot of questions from family and even my painter about my color choice on my truck, but now I get to take all the credit! | | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 130 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 130 | great looking gmc. could you please tell me the make of those mag wheels you have mounted on the truck in one of the other albums? i have three of those that are 15x8.5, and i am looking for a fourth, but i don't know what to ask for. thank you , and good luck.

Did you recently repaint your heater? What hammer color is that? Very clean. I wish I had that much room to dedicate my truck to.

It may look like I have a lot of room, but the other 2 vehicles have to moved in and out of the garage everytime I want to work on my truck. My backyard garage is 28' X 36'. It will hold 4 small vehicles and 3 large vehicles easily. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | WOW !! That is some album.
