Sorry, try this one.

http://community.webshots.com/photo/68821575/94895265VTwdrX

Rear fenders and bed are painted. Working on the bed wood right now. If everything goes good should mount the bed this weekend. Everything else is just about done!!!! Will be driveable after that. I can take all winter to finish up the details. I will post more pics after the bed is installed. Can't wait!!!

Sweet. Nice lookin' pup, too.
Running board looks nice and straight.
What are you doing for wheels. Please don't tell me you're going to 21's! Super shiney black and some redone caps would look awesome.

You got it, K10. Super shiny black original 16" wheels with the correct painted hupcaps. Might have to spring for radial tires though.

It is the original color "Polar Gray". I used Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 BC/CC.

That is one sweet looking truck. I like the idea of painting the wheels the same color as the body and then either chrome or white moon caps with the red GMC logo. It looks like you are doing excelent job.

The engine and the engine compartment look fantastic also!!!!

Wow, thanks for all the compliments. I am kinda proud of it. The wife even wanted to drive it the other night. Neighbor kids stopped by on the bikes and said, Man that truck is "tight". ]

Hopefully the bed we be installed this weekend.

Now you have me thinking. Black wheels or body color wheels with the painted hubcaps?

Lets hear everyone's opinion!!!

Wheels and tires are temporary while I decide what to do with the originals.

Looking great!! I hope you keep the original look with the stock wheels and tires. Check my webshots page and take a look at my 1951 GMC that I just sold. When I bought it the wheels were black with old worn out tires. I pulled the wheels and had them beadblasted and painted to match the color on the body of the truck, and wow, it really worked out well for me. I think on your truck, you could go both ways, either paint the wheels black, which would be a nice contrast with the gray color on your truck, or go with the body color. I bought BF Goodrich Silvertown tires from Coker and it really set the truck off. I have seen factory photos and postcards showing the GMC trucks with the wheels either body color keyed, black, or cream/white color.

I like how you did the bed wood black, not all show pine like alot of other people do. I think they came black from the factory any way.

Take good care of that sweet looking truck!!

Good job!!!

A truck after my own heart! Nice progress and a great looking truck.

My vote is for black powder coated wheels and shiny hubcaps.

If you would like to see what they look like take a look on my pictures page in my signature. Click on September 2003.

My 59 GMC has black powder coated stock wheels with GMC AD chrome hubcaps. For a subtle touch I bought the hubcaps without painted lettering.

Remember it's your truck, so it's your decision. I took a lot of questions from family and even my painter about my color choice on my truck, but now I get to take all the credit!

garyg: I don't know what brand those wheels are. The were on a truck I bought, but without any center caps or other way to identify them I don't have any idea of manufacturer.

afu45,
Very nice pics. Did you recently repaint your heater? What hammer color is that? Very clean.
I wish I had that much room to dedicate my truck to.

cmayna: Yes, I repainted my heater with Eastwood Hammer finish bronze rattle can paint. It turned out very well and easy to do.

It may look like I have a lot of room, but the other 2 vehicles have to moved in and out of the garage everytime I want to work on my truck. My backyard garage is 28' X 36'. It will hold 4 small vehicles and 3 large vehicles easily.
