We finally get rain in north Texas and 1957 3100 windshield gasket leaks in bottom corner. Gasket and windshield are new. I thought about pushing a little silicone in it but would that just make it leak somewhere else? This has got to be a common problem. Any suggestions?

I also installed a new gasket in mine and it leaks at the bottom 2 most outward corners. I have yet to do it but word on the street from all the car shows i went to is to have someone pull back the gasket lip over the cab bending it up and squeeze in some urethane all the way around (use generously. Then after that have someone lift up on the lip that overlaps the glass and follow with the thin viscosity window silicone. Let it ooze out and when dry cut with razor and pull off the rest. Lots of guys with the trucks are doing this.

That radius is very small in those corners and the rubber is hard to keep in place there. Rubber needs to be put on windshield and taped all the way around so that it will obtain "memory" and conform. It has been coiled up in a Chinese bag on a ship and has the wrong "memory", unless you used Steele Rubber Co. Even then, tape it and leave in the sun for a week or warm room. It will not leak if "re-trained" and installed correctly. Also the pinch weld should be checked for straightness/perpendicularity/radius conformity and deburred. Be careful with your intended fix or the glass corner will chip or snap off!!! the "goopy" style fix could make a huge mess.
