For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 543 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 543 | Ever since I went from my 4:11 rear to the 3:55 the speedo is off...everyone knows that and I've found a few ways to correct it but the simplest one seems to be the gear that goes into the tranny on the cable from the speedo. Patricks sells those but is out of them and has been for a long time.. Seems they have to order 50 at a time so they are waiting until they get that many orders... That will take a while and I've already been waiting for months.
Does anyone else sell these things ? I don't wanna send the speedo in for calibration. At present I'm using a GPS speedo on my iPhone but would sure like to have it fixed... | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 306 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 306 | ** Looking for the same answer, placed an order with Patricks last May {credit card billed} and still waiting. Spoke with Patrick a number of times all they can tell me is when they get them they will be shipped??? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 543 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 543 | Wow, what a way to run an airline You would think someone else would carry them... Might have been last May when I ordered one as well... | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 592 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 592 | Rather than change out the gears, I used a speedo adapter available from Jim Carter. This gives the ability to calibrate your speedo with exact accuracy specific to your truck, more accuracy than a gear change. You can determine your individual requirements using GPS...no need to send out the speedo. I am very happy with the result.
