I tried to keep everything original but did use chrome bumpers and a chrome grille instead of painted. I also used hickory boards for the bed which I think turned out really well. I am very happy with the paint job done by AutoBody Pros here in Cedar Falls, IA. I still have lots of little things to work on but should be ready for a parade next spring that my granddaughter wants to use Papa's 52 as a float for the Rainbow Girls. Hope the links below work to some pictures. Thanks to all the Stovebolters who helped with this project whether you know it or not! GREAT lookin' truck!! Looks like you've got all the hard stuff done. It's the little details that really take the time, but makes everything pop! I've been doing the details on my truck for about 6 months as I have time to work on it. Keep at it....sounds like your granddaughter is really proud of your truck!!

Your downfall is the same as mine. We want to drive our trucks while we work on them. All the things I want to do would be a lot easier if I would just bite the bullet and take the thing apart and not put it back together till it was done. I just like driving it too much to do that. I guess I'm condemned to the 10 year project. :-)
