For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! pre detergent oil use the small oil pipe feeding the rockers can easily clogg at low flow rates so the pipe is left open ended to maximise the oil velocity through the pipe and preventing clogging. post detergent oil use pipe end can be closed to maximise flow through rockers but causes a reduction in oil velocity thru the pipe.
now....use non detergent oil on engine with a closed pipe end and you have lower oil velocity through pipevand higher chance to clog....as they do.
so never use closed pipe end mod with non deteregent oil. risks of clogging and associated oil flow loss greatly outweighs assumed increased oil flow.
just something i was pondering on whilst drinking - and i am quite drunk so....might notnhavevexplainbed myself clearly
