The B tends to get damp after a good trip on the bowl and if you wipe it with a rag you do smell gas .It has the2-15/16 inch base . I have a 1967manual choke carb ROCHESTER (292) nos in a box that has the same base and the choke cable will hook right up and the gas pedal attachment will also. Before i try this out is there any pros or cons youse guys would like to share with me or should i just rebuild the B. thanks for any feedback on this BJF

(1) The 292 carb is internally larger, which would add more power at the upper RPM ranges, and SUBTRACT it from the lower RPM ranges. (2) The gaskets/accelerator pump/fuel valve used in the N.O.S. 1967 carburetor are NOT compatible with modern fuel, either ethanol-based or real fuel because of modern additives. It will require rebuilding before use.
(3) There is always someone who doesn't understand number (2) above that is willing to pay big money for N.O.S., especially a 292 carb.
I would suggest a third possible option of looking for an appropriate Carter on Ebay.

My thoughts exactly. Word of caution, there is a Ford version of the Carter that is jetted differently from the Chevrolet, and is even a bit different internally. I have seen those carbs mistakenly sold as "Chevrolet" carbs. That one will make it run very rich.

Try one of the better FLAPS. Napa kits are decent for what they are, as are Walker. I do not know the cost of either. Jon.
