Hello Stovebolter's,

I am looking for a PPG supplier at a good or discounted price. I was going to purchase it from TCP Global however I had a couple of bad experiences with them. I actually while visiting San Diego stopped into their store and both times while I was at the counter the counter guy was a real jerk. I refuse to do business with them even though they have good prices.

Now my question to you guy's, does any one know where I can get PPG for a discounted price? I have looked at the Omni brand but I want to go with PPG. I have shopped here locally in Las Vegas and here the prices are insane. I realize PPG is expensive but here I really think they are over charging.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

I thought shopline was PPG/Deltron's economy line.

Deltron is one line (top of the lines?)

Omni is a different line

Shop Line is a different line

Deltron is PPG's singlestage urethane.

You proboably wont get much of a discount, unless you are in the business, or know someone who is, otherwise they'll charge you retail.

Just about all of the top of the line paint lines are expensive, they're pretty much all the same, price wise, no matter who you buy it from.

We use SpiesHecker in our shop, which is sold by Dupont, it's top of the line. Our cost for a 'pint' of permacron base coat is $80.00 .

The price of paint & materials these days is out of controll.

I have already researched the Omni brand. I was told it's the body shop grade from PPG. Omni is about half of PPG. My bodywork guy recommends the PPG so that's why I was looking for a paint supplier who sold cheaper than what I can buy it locally.

Why dont you have your body guy get it for you, that's what I do.
You wont get it any cheaper than he or I will.

Is your bodyman a friend who is helping you, or is he doing the work for you?

if he is actually doing it for you, it would be cheaper for you to have him just to charge you for what he uses.
Body shops Do Not make any money on paint & materials anyway.

Well its a friend of my brother in law who has a shop in Mexico. He has tons of experience with the oldies. I supply the materials he supplies the labor.

Shopline replaced omni. Shop line works great and unless you are doing museum car I wouldn't pay the extra for the premium stuff.

I went to D'Angelo's which is a PPG supplier here in town since I am not having any luck finding a discounted supplier on the net recommended by anyone. I had D'Angelo's quote me both PPG (Deltron 2000 / DBC SOL) and Omni (Omni AU / MBC). They never told me about Shopline replacing Omni. They even gave me the mixing stickers (not sure the professional term) that go on the can. The counter guy stated the PPG covered better and used less paint than the Omni brand, however you were paying for it since it was 3 times more. I really appreciate everyone's opinions and professional thoughts on the brand of paint to use, however I have decided what I want is PPG and if I go with anything else and have a doubt later I do not want regret going with something else other than what I wanted. I am just looking for a discounted supplier other than TCP Global. Thanks guys.
