New to this forum as far as posting goes. I am in the middle of a restoration of a 52 6400. I bought it at a farm auction 9 years ago and thought I would just fix it some, but it turned into a complete redo. I don't mind the mechanic work so much but the body work is something I am having to learn as I go. Am slowly getting it back together, biggest problem is time and now money as I retired last year. I will say I have learned some things from this forum in the last few years, is a real good resource.

Welcome to the Bolt 52/6400. Your at the right place. The knowledge is endless here and the folks are grrreat. Just make the journey fun and enjoyable. A lot of us understand the retired and money is tight syndrome! Nevertheless, keep plugging away at it....EVERDAY. At least 15 minutes each day and you'll be surprised by the end of the month. Yes, welcome to the Stovebolt! I grew up in western ND, and my 56 pickup came from there as well. Tons of expertise on this site. Send pics in when you get a chance.

I too am from western ND, northwestern to be exact, 95 miles NW of Minot. The old hometown is an oil town now, nothing like when I was a kid. Live over NW of Devils Lake now. I just received the doors back from the body shop for the old 2 ton. Had patch panels put in where the lower weatherstrip retainer sits. Had some pin holes in both. Am finding some parts for the 2 tons are not reproduced either. Had to have both front spring hangers made at a machine shop, ended up over $100 for two bolts. Will try to post pictures at some point, have been documenting the progress or lack thereof. Thanks for the greeting.

We had a 1948 Chevy 2 ton grain truck on the farm. We also used it to haul hay, haul water, etc... It seemed to always have a few mice living in the seat. Hated that part of driving it. I also remember the drivers door would come unlatched on right turns!

Our hometown, SW of Minot, has also turned into an oil town. Lots more traffic, money, and crime than there used to be.

Sounds like you are making progress on your project. I was fortunate that mine was pretty much rust free. Best of luck and post pictures when you get a chance.

Know what you mean about the mice, I found about 5 inches of grain chaff, old wheat seeds, and mouse crap under the seat. Rusted stuff up bad. Ended up cutting up 3 different seat frames and piecing them together before I could upholster the seat. Good thing I have a row of parts trucks and pickups out north of the garage. Floor was rusted out too, not from the outside but from dirt lying on the floor and getting wet. It also had some roof dents from hitting the combine auger I guess. I will at some point get some pictures, not sure how to do it.
