I'm getting close to having my 1966 GMC 5500 working again, but am now wondering if there is a problem with the clutch. It doesn't engage until the pedal is near the top end of its travel when releasing the clutch, and the adjuster is at the end of its threads (going the other way prevents the clutch from engaging at all). For those with more experience, does this indicate a problem with clutch wear or installation? The bell housing and transmission are clean compared to engine and driveline, so the previous owner may have had it apart. I replaced a leaking hydraulic clutch slave cylinder (which was very difficult to get primed), but dimensions of the replacement cylinder matched what was on the truck.
