I'm apparently too dense to find spindles for my truck. Can someone tell me where I might find them? I'm finding lots of drop spindles but not stock ones. Thanks

You are not dense. If someone had a stock of those 51-59 spindles, I bet they could sell 500 pairs in one year.

Post a want ad in the Swap Meet. Make sure you specify that you want a usable pair.

I bought a NOS pair on eBay about 15 years ago but have not seen many since then.

Are yours missing, or need repairing?

I had a bearing fail in 1983 or 1984 on my 58 Chevy pkup and could nit find a spindle then. Took mine to a machine shop along with the new bearings and they fixed the spindle and made it look new again.

Been running it ever since.

The spindles have been scored by the bearings. One has been gouged out where it narrows down before the threads. The kingpin bosses look almost perfect. There was virtually no play in either one when mounted to the axle.

A friend who was a machinist said he could probably build it up with welded steel and then machine it back down to fit the bearings if I couldn't find a replacement.
