I may need to replace the spindles on my '52 GMC 1/2 ton. I've read somewhere that spindles from several years (of GMC/Chev) trucks will work. Up to '59 ?? Can anyone help me out with info. I don't see spindles offered for sale anywhere, so I'm thinking I need to visit the local bone yards.

1951-59 1/2 ton will work.

Reproduction spindles are not available (good luck finding GM replacement spindles).

I had to take one of my spindles from my 58 in to a machine shop one time when a bearing failed and the inside race spun on the spindle. I took the new bearings in and the machine shop built the spindle back up and turned it to match the bearings.

Wasn't that expensive to do, but did this back in 1983 or 84. Been running it ever since. Still have the ball bearings.
