The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline 1951 Rear axle code from 1950?

My '51 with original-appearing rear axle has older style huck brakes. The axle code is HE807 which decodes to a 1950. Could this be the original axle "leftover" from 1950 production and installed on my early 1951 build truck?
I'd like to upgrade the rear brakes without changing the axle - any options besides just restoring the hucks?

there weren't "leftovers" used, the beginning of a model years production back then was the late summer/fall of the previous calender year, and parts used weren't necessarily dated the same month or year as the vehicle, but they wouldn't have put the axle on the vehicle if the vehicle was supposed to have a newer feature - if your title says 1950, then it was first titled in 1950 and it's likely a 1950 in most, if not all, details .... what's the ID on the door tag say?

Well this is where it gets interesting...
The VIN(20JPA27521)plate, cab (vent windows, one louver vent), and engine (JBM code) are clearly 1951.
I also have a book of old photos of the truck unrestored that indicate the cab was not replaced, and the truck has low (<30K) miles. The driveline certainly appears to not have been taken apart and the frame is all solid and riveted....
But the title (not original) was "mistakenly" (per the previous to the previous owner) labelled as a 1950, though the VIN is listed correctly, so who knows?
In any case I plan on keeping it all together with mild safety-related mods and need a strategy for the rear brakes.

DMVs didn't use the vin coding to determine the year, back then vehicles were titled as the year of first sale/registration, not the mfgrs model year, and each year sales started in the fall of the calender year preceding the model year
