Back in the 70's my truck had tail lamps mounted high on the truck bed.
Here are a few pics
...picture...

...more recent picture...
I still have the old tail lamp housing's from the 70's and thinking about putting them back on the truck.

Just wondering how these thing mounted or what the bracket looks like.

...old after market tail lamp...
... Pic 2...

There is one existing hole in the ...rail...
And I do remember pulling the old wires out of the rails

My guess is the wires ran through that hole in the back of the rail
And it was held on with an L bracket mounted to the chain eye bolt.

I've seen them mounted like ...this...
But I don't see any evidence that they were mounted on my truck like that .

Any one have any pictures of this style tail lamp mounted on the rail?
I would like the see what the bracket looks like.

Thanks

My Granddad's truck had these on the back of as well. They were mounted lower but it looks like a generic, homemade plate held them on. Perhaps just because he needed them. I cannot post a picture on this site as I do not have a whatever account. PM me your email address if you want and I can send you a picture.

I installed the 2nd set tail lights on the truck.

I ended up painting them body color
And just made a simple bracket with some angle iron.

I do have one issue
I notice the headlamps dim as the bright 1157 clicks.
