I took the wire off the starter, hooked the battery cable back up to it, dropped a 12 volt in it and it turned right over. Just want to be sure before I put everything back in place. If not, then you have a wiring issue from battery to starter and/or ground. Or, the starter is needing attention. Most people don't bother changing out the starter from 6v to 12v as the 6v starter will work and last just fine with 12v. Also, most will convert to alternator when switching to 12v unless an authentic look is high on the priority list. Also, look for voltage markings on the coil. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 8 | Checked all the bulbs in the truck. All are 12 volt. Good indicator? Also the regulator reads 12 volt. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | you're 12V, and the generator will be 12V, doesn't really matter about the starter it'll work better on 12V if it is a 6V - carry on, give us the run down in the Welcome or DITY forums, and pics are always of interest
