The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Radiator Support Mix N' Match

As I go about assembling everything I have there's this new puzzle. The frame is a '49, everything else is from a '50 3100. Here's a pic of the core support:

Does this support accommodate both the center mount and the side mounts? The frame only has the center holes and I am wondering which supports to buy.

If the cross member that supports the radiator support matches i would by the center one.

This was my mistake. The frame is a '49 3100 but the core support is from a '50 3600.

The mount, as pictured, is in pretty bad shape and both bolts are rusted to/in it.

Is there any harm in using the two side holes and drilling these holes in the cross member? Seems like a much beefier and sturdy alternative.

Fix and use the one you have.

The center mount is part of the whole design to allow the frame to move without affecting the front clip. Those spacers are used to adjust the sheet metal for a good fit.
