Hey All
take a look at these two lug bolts
https://plus.google.com/photos/118219121658359708127/albums/6045667192411998353

The smaller one is out of my front hub on my 46 2 ton. The larger one is out of a hub I got off ebay which was also a 2 ton 46.

The larger one wont fit thru the front wheel of my truck.

Both have the same shank size that fits in the hub itself.

Truck Serial Number - 6PW-I-4400 - Which makes it classified as Utility.

From the Parts book
5.812
1930-46 ALL UTILITY (exc. LR) - 3683850 - hub
1940-49 ALL UTILITY (exc. WA) - 3650739 - drum
1946-49 ALL UTILITY (exc. O) - 3682389 - hub (5/8-18)
Basically Im confused by what it says in the parts book. Would somebody be so kind as to help me figure out the correct part number?

What had happened on my truck was that somebody bought some aftermarket studs which were the correct thickness for the wheel hole, but too small of a shank to fit snugly in the hub. So they then tack welded them to the hub. Ive removed all the stupid, but now need to bet the correct studs.

Jay,

I added my comments after I pasted your info below...

"1930-46 ALL UTILITY (exc. LR) - 3683850 - hub". My 1951 Parts Book has this item listed as 1930-42 (1-3/4" long, 7/16" long splined shoulder, 1-5/16" long bolt threads, 9/16-18 threads.

"1940-49 ALL UTILITY (exc. WA) - 3650739 - drum". My 1959 Parts Book has this item listed as 1940-59 (1-1/4" long, 1/2" long splined shoulder, 3/4" long bolt threads, 7/16-20 threads.

"1946-49 ALL UTILITY (exc. O) - 3682389 - hub (5/8-18)". I believe you have a typo, the part number should be 3682387. My 1959 Parts Book has this item listed as 1946-53 (2-1/64" long, 9/16" long splined shoulder, 1-29/64" long bolt threads, 5/8-18 threads.

Hope this helps you figure out what you need...all three have different thread sizes.

My Parts book is from 1949 and it doesnt have the details about spline shoulder length or thread lengths. thanks for providing that.

I measured

my small one is 1-3/4" long, 7/16" long splined shoulder, 1-5/16" long bolt threads so mine are 3683850

my large ones are 3682387
since I cant use the large ones, if anybody wants em, let me know. its a full set of 10 with the cool nuts with integrated washers. NOS.
