would it be possible to put a 1966 pickup fron suspension on a 1955 panel?.i am asking be cause I have both.i plan on keeping the panel and scrapping the pickup. thank for all of your help ..

things will be different on 55 1st series vs 55 2nd series, might specify which wink anything is "possible" - if you have a tape measure you might find the widths don't match well

you are right,ishould have been more specife.my 55 is asecond series.soon as get the engine out of the pickupiwill do some measureing. thanks

Might be worth checking with Hotrod Lincoln. I believe he is doing that very swap on a '55-'59 Panel (I don't recall the exact year), only he is using a 3/4 ton crossmember from a later truck. The basic crossmember is the same, main difference is the load rating and the one he is using has disk brakes.

after getting the eng. out of the pickup,i did some measureing.what I found,is the 55 panel frame is 3 inchs wider than the 66 pickup.i,m not sure I want to get envolve that much.so its back to the think tank.

A Camaro/firebird subframe is way easier. That's what is on my 55 2nd series from a 79 Trans Am.
