I'll pulled the carburetor today and had to laugh when I pulled in the intake pipe and found what appears to be a mouse nest or some other debris in the carburetor and partially up through the intake tube.

I'll probably be hunting for a re-built carburetor rather than try to work on this myself. Anyone have any sources for these updraft carburetors?

Unless you are independently wealthy and do not wish to remain so, you would be better off rebuilding the carb yourself.

The carb should be a 2075s Carter.

I don't know if they are still in demand; but a few years ago, the guys racing Bugattis (yep, not a misprint) were scouring the earth for this carb.

I don't recall the exact model, but there is one model of supercharged Bugatti popular for vintage sports car racing that had a two-barrel updraft Solex that just wasn't popular. A company in the northeast developed some modifications for the 2075s making it compatible with the blower, and they replaced the updraft two-barrel Solex with two of the Carter 2075s.

Kits are readily available, as are most other components except for the castings and the main venturi. This was the largest of all of the BB updraft Carters.

Certain Solex carb seem to be hard to find any kits for.... I have a triple carb setup for a Saab 2 stroke and there doesn't seem to be squat around for them other than a gasket set.....
