OK.....after 3 days of trolling the internet, my question is :

re: bearing #'s 909067R & 909052R

Will these bearings fit a '47 - 52 6 lug 1/2 ton ?

Lets not discuss merits of roller vs. balls , just a knowledge / experience based answer. Thanks guys ! ! !

yes they'll fit [up to 59] and some say they work fine, others say carry ball bearings in the glovebox
the dimensions are not an exact match to the ball bearings and it's likely the spindles and associated need to be in perfect condition

909067R - bore=19.057mm, outer d.=52.832mm
Ball Bearing [B01] - bore=19.044mm, outer d.=52.8447mm

909052R - bore=32.550mm, outer d.=72.260mm
Ball Bearing [B40] - bore=31.760mm, outer d.=65.1256mm

Your supplied dimensions indicate a difference of 5 mm in the OD. between the ball type and the roller type. Don't you think a difference of 5 mm would make them unusable? 5mm is like 3/16 of an inch and would put the bearing WAY outside usable.

yes, I decided against going roller because they weren't a close enough match, but those bearings are what folks report being supplied by the vintage vendors for the swap, and after much research, including via the main major bearing specialty place here I've not found anything closer .... also I've never had any problems with the balls on many different trucks so don't see the usefulness, although it's commonly said it's best to do if going to disc brakes
