Grill- $650 (with core)
Front bumper- $200 (with core)
Rear bumper- $300 (without core)
This seems a little high to me. I would appreciate any opinions and/or alternatives

Then one here quoted me $200 for both bumbers and $250.00 for the grill, and thats taking it apart and painting the parts that arnt Chromed. Hope you fine something cheeper!

I was quoted between $650 and $800 for chrome plating a '54 grill. This was for the triple plating process (copper, nickel, chrome).

The point about stainless bumpers is valid. Stainless isn't chrome, but you can buff out any scratches which you can't do with chrome.
The prices to me seem about right. There's a distinction between buying repopped chrome from China, and re-chroming original parts. The rechroming (i.e. triple plate) is good when done correctly.
Check references of any chrome shop and look at some work that they've done that's at least a year or two old before you invest.
There are shotty chrome shops and good ones, just like in everything else. | | |
