Went for annual safety check today.
At least the breaks are okay this year smile
But both front wheel bearings needs to be replaced. Also both sides Tie Rod ends.

My truck is a 2.5 ton 6500 Viking from 59.

Can this be a good fix?

Or is this one for a smaller pickup truck ?

And is these ones correct ?

Ulf,

Your 6500 is actually a 2 ton truck (2-1/2 ton trucks are Series 7-8-9-10).

Here is what I found in my Parts Book...

Tie Rod Ends 55-59 Series 5-6 (exc. HD)

left (1-16 LH thd) (5 OL)...p/n 609747

right (1-16 RH thd) (5 OL)...p/n 609748

Inner Wheel Bearings Assembly

55-59 Series 5-6 (shaft dia. 1-3/4") (Hy C125298WA)...p/n 7450335

Outer Wheel Bearings Assembly

55-59 Series 5-6 (shaft dia. 1-1/32") (Hy A131224Z)...p/n 7450336

The parts from Classic Perform are for the small trucks...

I don't think the ID is right on the NAPA Bearings.

Can you read the numbers off of your bearings?

Hope this helps,

Mike B smile

Thanks Mike. Will remove the old ones and see what they say smile
Of course it's a 2-ton...

Thanks for the part numbers.

Any idea where to find these parts or replacement parts ?

/Ulf

Took a search at Rockauto on p/n 7450336 and found a SKF bearing.
SKF is a swedish company hardly 45 minutes away from where I live smile
7450335 gave me nothing frown

And this one converts both the inner and outer bearings to SKF bearings:
15103-S
BR25583

www.skf.com/binary/79-66347/457013.pdf

Hopefully easier for me to find these here without having to pay for shipping and customs smile

Anything else I will need except the bearings ? Any seals ?

Here is what I came up with. As far as I can tell the tie rod ends are ES176L & ES176R.
The wheel brgs are 25583-25519 on the inner brgs & 6785 on the seal. The outer brgs are 15103S-15243. These are from a CARQUEST catalog & are National brand.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Thanks. Seems to be same bearings as I found with other p/n and are made from SKF Sweden smile

I can order these from a swedish company and have them home in 2 days smile

The biggest prob is where to find the tie rod ends.

Again thanks for your help !! smile

Question:
Does MOOG : ES176L & ES176R replace the older NOS parts?
GM # 609747 LEFT
GM # 609748 RIGHT

Seems the ES176L and R can be found here in Sweden too, so I can skip shipping and custom cost. But don't want to take a chance if they will not fit.

Original GM parts can only be found in US as George wrote in a previous post. But then everything gets 3 times more expensive.

So if anyone can confirm I will buy the part here.

Hmm.. no reply from Friesen.
I give it one day more, then I will issue the order through a Swedish shipping company in US.

If I can't manage to buy #609747 or #609748 can these from NAPA work ?
When I search for 609747 or 609748 at NAPA, and click interchange they give me:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Tie-Rod-End-Outer/_/R-NCP2692019_0380125365

And:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Tie-Rod-End-Outer/_/R-NCP2692020_0380125403

So now I want to hear from you guys, are these okay ?
I have upcoming race contest in 3 weeks and start having panic.

Wheel bearings I have in a shop here in Sweden. It's the Tie Rod ends I need urgent.

Just replaced the two Tie Rod ends with new ones from NAPA.
Perfect fit, took an hour to change and the difference is enormous !!!
The front end play is gone !!!

The bearing didn't need replacement, just tightened the right one as the other side.

I got a new truck smile smile smile
