I'm about to paint the outside of my '53 cab with the doors on, but no weatherstripping at all. Theres that gap around the door, some areas I can almost stick a finger through. Whats the best way to prevent overspray from going inside? The only way I could think of, would be to raise the cab up, tape to the edges of cab and door, then climb out through the tranmission cover, if it's big enough smile

I don't know about the taping but if you need to get through that hole I just fit through and I'm 5'11",165lbs.

I'm not a painter or body man (or "body person" in our PC world), but how about opening the door, taping about 6" or 8" wide strips of cardboard to the inside door frame and then closing the door?

Now, Cosmo, don't leave us in suspense, tell us WHY you know that you fit through the tranny opening grin

There is a special masking tape for this, it is like a foam bead sticky on one side or something. They sell it at http://www.autobodystore.com

oh, is that foam with sticky tape susposed to allow you to put the foam around like where the rubber would go around the door, then when you close it, it will cover up the gap by squishing a little? I wonder if they sell different heights...
