i just finished wiring my 53 3100 and rebuilding the gauges, i have a 283 and 12v, mechanical temp gauge its new for v8. i put a voltage reducer on the fuel gauge and wired it up it doesnt move at all stuck on empty. i noticed it looks like needl is contacting the gauge trim which probably means disassembly which is a big job at this stage. so i ask a dumb question are there any other options?

happened to me and a couple others on here I think. As much as I hated to do it, pulling it all back out was the only way. but before you tighten everything down this time when you get it working, check it. You are not alone in the problem nor the dread of redoing it.
