Hi gang, I'm looking for a good set of cross sills, or cross braces for my 51 3804. The after market ones that I bought were not even close to the original ones. They were about half as wide as the ones that I took out. Thank you in advance, Gerry

What company and part number for the parts that did not fit?

Hi tclederman, I got the parts from Jim Cartar, part #bp101. I know it said for 1/2 &3/4 ton but was hoping that they were the same. Gerry

There will be people here that know 1-ton parts.

Did you check with MAR-K?

The cross sills for the 1 ton bed (9') are different than the 1/2 & 3/4 ton sills, much heavier construction and they bolt to the bed sides with 4 bolts on each end. They are available I think from MAR-K.

I too am looking for some of these for the 9' one ton box but the aftermarket ones don't seem to be exact. Anyone actually replace theirs and care to share if the replacements were exact?

Hi, I checked with Mar-k and they say that the replacement cross sills they offer are as original. Only problem for right now is the price. $90 each and I need all 4!!! Gerry Lee

I got My rear cross sill from Mar-k and it IS an EXACT FIT.
Laid it down on top of the original and it,s a carbon copy.
Looks like GM made it,
Well worth it to me.

My 41 1 ton long bed was used to pull a hay baler and only the 2 center end flanges had some wear. I did have to reinforce the lower bedsides where they bolted through.

Yes it is a 3804 pickup,non dump,but would like it to be.
Still haven,t rebuilt the bed yet,but have all the parts.
Have bought alot from them and their service is great.
90.00 now? prolly a little less when I bought but you couldn,t fab up 1/2 of a new one for that in my book.
Been amassing parts to do this truck for the last 12 yrs or so.
Life,s gotten in the way,not getting any younger.
Now,to get started......

Hi Steve Sr, Thank you for your input. It is a lot of money but if they are like you say than I have to go for it. It has to be correct if I want to show off the truck with the bed up. Do you have any bone yards or contacts in the area that may have parts trucks? Thank you again, Gerry Lee

Stuff for these trucks is generally scarce around here,unless you,ve got contacts out on the East End thats still part farms,Or Upstate.
My 50 3804 parts truck,The other 1/2 and I went to get over a 3 day weekend out of Athens Ohio.
That was the best find for the $$.
P.O. bought it complete out of N.Carolina for the eng,trans and 9ft bed.
We got the rest for 500.00 and a long weekend enjoyable adventure
