I'm accumulating for a rear gear change, where can I get a shim pack that has a 'carrier pack' where the shims go in as pack and not individually.

Patrick's. But, his packs include thicker than factory shims to account for his gear set. Give him a call.

GP, a shim "pack" to me simply means a number of shims of differing thicknesses that you pick and choose what you need to get to the final proper clearances. You cant simply assume you need x, y, and Z thickness shims. You have to shim the pinion bearing to proper clearance and each axle setup is different to some degree.

Patrick's tells you that his gears are setup so that you probably have to add X thickness shim to the factory stack as a starting point, but must check clearances and add/subtract as necessary. It's a painstaking process, but absolutely necessary.

I may be using the wrong term. In other rears I can find shim sets that you add shims to a shim carrier, if you need to swap a .010 with a .008 you pull the entire shim pack carrier out replace the shims, the carrier lets you drive the shims in or pull them out as group so you don't have to deal with individual shims.
