Trying to finish installing the horn button parts and steering wheel. I ordered a new upper bearning but I am unsure where the wire goes that is connected to the bearing? I am not understanding how the electrical is conducted for the horn throught the steering shaft. Any help is appreciated.

the wire goes down the column, then out a hole in the mast jacket to connect to the harness below the dash - it supplies a ground via the bearings contact with the mast jacket when the horn button is depressed connecting the 2 .... if you haven't taken the old bearing wire out yet, it helps to tie a "fish wire" to it under the dash to make pulling the new one in easier

There is no wire exposed under the wheel at this time but it is showing out the hole on the bottom, is the wire supposed to go between the steering shaft and the column itself. It seems the wire from the bushing would get twisted when the wheel is turned?? Thanks, again, I'm new to the old truck world...

the side of the bearing with the wire faces down, you can't see it until you pull the bearing out, and you can see the space then the wire fits in - the outer ring of the bearing doesn't turn
