I ordered a new upper bearning but I am unsure where the wire goes that is connected to the bearing? I am not understanding how the electrical is conducted for the horn throught the steering shaft. Any help is appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the wire goes down the column, then out a hole in the mast jacket to connect to the harness below the dash - it supplies a ground via the bearings contact with the mast jacket when the horn button is depressed connecting the 2 .... if you haven't taken the old bearing wire out yet, it helps to tie a "fish wire" to it under the dash to make pulling the new one in easier

It seems the wire from the bushing would get twisted when the wheel is turned??
