I looked through other posts and didn't see this addressed specifically so here it goes. I have a Klaxon TR-90 horn on my '52 3100 that was wired to an aftermarket button the PO located under the dash. Heck of a place for a horn button. I've gotten the steering wheel button working so ground is provided at the wire coming out of the steering column when the button is pressed. The TR-90 is a one-wire horn. To me, that would mean it's grounded via the mounting bracket and 12v is being sent to it when the button is pressed. If that's correct, that's the opposite of what I need with the original set-up. Here's my question- Can I insulate the mounting bracket so it's not grounded, add a relay and wire it to work with the original button/ground? Thx in advance for the feedback.

You can add a relay that will supply the power when you need it and leave it grounded at the frame.

To do this the relay will be set up so that when the horn button grounds the relay it closes the relay to send 12 v on to the horn.

Most local parts stores carry a relay kit with connector and a diagram inside to show you how to wire it. Pretty simple and cheap.
