For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove this switch. I've pulled and twisted with no success. Any tips please?

It looks like a different switch then I remember but does it have a little spring loaded button on the opposite side of the wires? If so push down on the button and pull on the knob. That is how some switches work that I have seen. Hope it works for you. Or does the knob itself screw off the shaft?

Well... some bolt cutters did the trick after the switch broke into pieces while examining it! Thanks for the suggestions. Couldn't find any sort of release button.
